Nasreen R. Meah, LCSW, LMSW, CPC

Co-Founder and Executive Director

Nasreen Meah is a licensed psychotherapist in private practice and a lecturer at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Nasreen also serves as a member of the Ethics committee at the National Association of Social Workers-Michigan Chapter and as a board member at the non-profit organization Mai Family Services. Nasreen brings 13 years of experience in mental health and community organizing.

Nasreen is passionate about social justice and believes that society’s privilege has a moral responsibility to help those with less privilege. Nasreen and her husband continue their commitment to community service through their private foundation.


Daria Massimilla, MPH, RN

Secretary & Treasurer

Daria Massimilla holds a BS in Biology and MPH from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and is also a registered nurse. With over 40 years of experience in healthcare, she brings a wealth of expertise to her work with Jotno. Currently, Daria serves as a Health Care Analyst at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Her career highlights include managing a public health program for the National Cancer Institute. 

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Daria is deeply engaged in community service and governance, having served with local organizations, ethics committee, and with a Ukrainian medical society. Her dedication to healthcare and public service underscores her commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of all, especially the disadvantaged.


Linda Sattler, PhD

Board Member

Linda is an industrial engineer and statistician with a background in improving manufacturing facilities and survey research. received her Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research in 1995, during which she was part of the Competitive Semiconductor Manufacturing Research Project. She has a master’s degree in applied math and an undergraduate degree in both math and computer science. She has worked in various capacities for Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Chrysler, Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, Intel, Tyndall National Institute and Dairygold. StatDat Analytics, LLC, a statistics consulting firm, was founded by Linda in 2013.


Julie Cushman, LCSW, LMSW

Board Member

Julie is a social worker with over twenty years of experience as a Teaching Professor at the University of Michigan School of Social Work. She brings a comprehensive portfolio of experience in nonprofit organization, specializing in advanced clinical intervention, social policy, community change, research, evaluation, and the practice of diversity and social change, along with practical experience in grant writing and navigating the complexities of funding and resource allocation management over the past decade. Her involvement in community-wide initiatives has influenced policy by advocating for systems that support equality, equity, and social justice—especially for women and families facing societal challenges.

Julie’s longstanding academic, advocacy, and policy development work helps bridge the gap between theory and practical application to develop social solutions. Julie believes by supporting initiatives that offer educational resources, mentoring, and support to underserved children. We are not just changing individual lives — we are transforming communities and paving the way for a brighter, more equitable future.


Advisory Board

Tauhid Zaman, PhD, MEng

Dr. Zaman is an Associate Professor of Operations Management with the Yale School of Management. Dr Zaman received his BS, MEng, and PhD degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the MIT Sloan School of Management. His research focuses on solving operational problems involving social network data using probabilistic models, network algorithms, and modern statistical methods.  Some of the topics he studies in the social network space include predicting the popularity of content, finding online extremists, and geo-locating users.

Dr. Zaman’s broader interests cover data-driven approaches to investing in startup companies, non-traditional choice modeling, algorithmic sports betting, and biometric data. He is interested in the power of generative AI to help the non-profit sector with fundraising.

His work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Wired, Mashable, the LA Times, and Time Magazine.
